PETA AND HER MEGANE COUPE IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE (PART 2)

-

After the little accident in the first Megane, I was given a brand new one because, after all, a client of Eurodrive gets only the best. Now I have a white Megane Coupé which means I am often mistaken for the district nurse but with better clothes.

At the moment I am driving all over the Languedoc and Camargue regions researching stories for the television series I will be filming here in September. Driving this car is a very smooth, controlled, quiet experience - nothing sudden ever happens, the breaks are fast and people take you seriously because you look so flash. It was thus that I arrived in Bouzigues, the famous oyster town. My friends and I ate at L’Arseillère (means oyster net) on the waterfront and gorged ourselves on oysters, mussels, clams and prawns, both raw and grilled. You can’t eat oysters in Bouzigues without the local white wine, Picpoul, so we felt obliged. When I got home I realized how little fuel I had used - that’s the beauty of diesel. Au revoir et à la prochaine!

PETA AND HER MEGANE COUPE IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE (PART 1)

-

‘Peta, you can’t possibly park that big car in that little space.’
‘Of course I can - this is a cinch for a Megane.’

Peta for Renault Eurodrive

-

So saying, I miraculously reverse-parked the beautiful Megane Coupé into a tiny space on a back street in one of the most refined and gracious cities in - Aix-en-Provence. This car, I’ve discovered, can park anywhere. A few weeks later I had a little accident in the car accompanied by rain and lightning. I got out my instruction card from Eurodrive and followed their clear directives. The first one said, stay calm and don’t punch the other driver. The second one said stay calm and call this number. It was a Saturday (in the South of France you only open on Saturday if the President is coming). In spite of this a nice man came and picked the Megane up to be fixed. On top of that the nice Eurodrive lady arranged for a dealer to open his closed shop and give me a replacement car (on a Saturday!!). The Eurodrive lady called me six times to arrange things and check that I was OK. The worst thing that can happen to you is to have a little accident in a rental car in the middle of nowhere in a foreign country. I thought the service was fantastic and I guess that’s why Eurodrive stand out really. Stay tuned for more exciting adventures.
