  • Prevention

Accident prevention means enabling drivers to foresee risks and adapt their behavior accordingly. Renault vehicles are fitted with two accident prevention systems:

  

   . Systems to prompt the driver into action when a risk arises (buzzers, warning lights, etc.);

   . Systems to make driving easier thus enabling the driver to concentrate fully on the road.    

 

We find on some vehicles :

Audible seat belt reminder (SBR)

The SBR warns the driver that the seat belt is not properly fastened.

 

Automatic headlights and wipers

By taking care of routine operations like switching the headligthts or wipers on, automatic systems help the driver concentrate exclusively on the road.

 

Xenon and bi-xenon headlights

Powerful long-range headlights make night driving easier and safer. 

 

 

  • Correction

Correction systems help the driver deal with unexpected situations where the risk of losing control of the vehicle is present.

 

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

ABS prevents the wheels from locking under heavy braking, thus helping the driver keep control of the vehicle in difficult circumstances.

 

Emergency Brake Assist

This system further enhances ABS operation to detect emergency situations and help the driver brake with optimum efficiency.

 

 

 

  • Protection

As it is not always possible to avoid accidents, Renault cars are fitted with systems to protect all passengers in all seats, regardless of their age, size and shape.

 

Airbags

Airbags enhance the action of seat belts by inflating automatically to reduce the risk of injury on impact.

 

Child safety system

As a child’s body differs considerably from an adult’s in the way it reacts in an impact, Renault has designed a special child safety system based on standard Isofix fasteners.

 

Vehicle structure

The structure of a Renault car is specially designed to crumple gradually and absorb impact energy during a collision, leaving the passenger compartment untouched, as a safe survival cell.
